Enmanji 円満寺 / 圓満寺 Enman-Ji, Imadomi
円満寺 Enmanji 市原市今富６９２ / Ichihara city, Imadomi

The main statue is 不動明王 Fudo Myo-O.

The temple was founded in 1594 by 円満上人 Saint Enman.
on request of 藤右衛門清胤 Fujiemon Kiyotane.
Not much more information is found online.


円満寺宝篋印塔 Hokyoin Pagoda Tower
It was built in 1547.
It is now a 市原市有形文化財 Tangible Cultural Treasure of Ichihara city.

neko 猫 a cat
湯島円満寺前の煎餅屋に、夜な夜な大きな猫がやって来て食物を喰らうので、亭主が猫を捕まえて酷く殺し、妻に命じて猫を捨てさせた。その妻が帰ってくると、あっと叫んで夫の顔を引っ掻き、色々と猫の動作をまねる。もてあました亭主は近所の人々を集めてようやく縛り上げた。するとニャアニャアワウワウと泣き叫び、物を食う時も器の中に顔を入れて、魚を好んで食べたという。
